Attaboy!

For those of you who enjoy my coordinational challenges, you'll be amused (or possibly concerned) to know that the apple has not fallen far from the tree. My poor little man seems to have inherited that particular damaged gene from me. He came home from daycare last week with a scabbed-over scratch across the bridge of his nose. How did that happen you ask? Falling off the swingset? Nope. Wrestling with one of his friends? Not even close. Keep in mind this is my spawn we are talking about. My superchild sustained a reading injury. Yes, you read that correctly - he scraped the bridge of his nose while READING! Apparently he somehow got in an altercation with the spine of the book and the book won. Attaboy! In all fairness, I should pay homage to my guardian angel who keeps my from significantly damaging myself. Thank you angel for only usually allowing me to inflict minor wounds on myself! Maybe I'm looking at it backwards - maybe it's not a challenge, but a carefully honed skill. Remind me of that perspective next time I'm in the ER with my son after he has damaged himself while sitting still on the couch. Like that ever happens!
